The results show that the predominant dissipating mechanism in this model scale was a linear viscous decay both with and without the ice floes. The ratio of bottom pressure to local wave amplitude in the ice field was found to be the same as that of a free-surface wave with no ice present. The measured wave lengths and celerity with and without ice agree very well with the predicted values for finite depth of water with no ice.
