It is based on Soviet oper-source materials available at the Aerospace Technology Division and the Library of Congress. For the most part, the coverage is for the year 1963; some additional information, however, is from sources published in 1960-1962 but received at the Library in 1963, and a few of the entries are from sources published in 1964. Some of the items originally appeared in the ATD Press; others were adapted from abstracts originally published in Soviet-Bloc Research in Geophysics, Astronomy, and Space, prepared by the Joint Publications Research Service. Although some of the references apply to several subject fields, entries have been grouped as closely as possible in accordance with six of the paragraph headings of the work assignment, and are alphabetically arranged by author. Information on several major books and monographs which relate to several meteorological topics is presented in the form of brief book reviews, with listings of the tables of contents (Part VII).
