The radiation terms not previously discussed are first calculated - these are short wave radiation absorbed in the atmosphere and upward long wave radiation loss to space. The results are then presented, first the radiation balance of the troposphere and next the balance for the system earth-atmosphere. The monthly values of the various components of the radiation balance are illustrated and discussed for characteristic geographical points. Monthly maps of radiation balance (earth-atmosphere) are presented and discussed. (Author)
