Description
Summary:A series of 23 successful unmanned balloon flights to me sure the Cosmic Radiation, solar protons and x-rays at high altitudes in the auroral zone (Kiruna/Sweden) were carried out. The equipment and the special viewpoints of the measurements are described in detail and the results are compiled in 45 diagrams. In addition to x-ray events which occur relatively frequently in the auroral zone, four cases of solar proton injections occurring on July 12th, 18th, 20th and 27th, 1961, were recorded during the passage of two very active plage regions across the solar disk. The various events are briefly discussed. The measurements are counterparts of similar ones carried out simultaneously by American groups. (Author)
