E 05: a kettle lake on the North Slope of Alaska with a surface area of 113006 meters squared and a volume of 703.376 cubic meters. Sampling location is located approximately half-way along the the north-south transect of the lake, in the widest portion of the lake before it begins to narrow, closer to the western shore, and is ~10-12 meter in depth. E 06: a kettle lake on the North Slope of Alaska with a surface area of ~19.961 meters squared and a volume of ~34.819 cubic meters. Sampling location is in 2 meters of water on the southern shore of the north east half of the lake (furthest part from the haul road). Inlet Series Lakes: Series of beaded lakes connected to Toolik Lake. The Inlet Series includes lakes I1, I2, I3, I4, I5, I6 Headwater Lake, I6, I7, I8, and I-Swamp. The Arctic LTER research site (68°N and 149°W) is in the foothills region of the North Slope of Alaska and includes the entire Toolik Lake watershed and the adjacent watershed of the upper Kuparuk River, down to the confluence of these two watersheds. This area is typical of the northern foothills of the Brooks Range, with continuous permafrost, no trees, a complete snow cover for 7 to 9 months, winter ice cover on lakes, streams, and ocean, and cessation of river flow during the winter. Tussock tundra vegetation of sedges and grasses mixed with dwarf birch and low willows form the dominant vegetation type with areas of drier heath tundra on ridge tops and other well-drained sites as well as areas of river-bottom willow communities. -149.633006 W -149.586709 E 68.641131 N 68.624027 S -149.462999 W -149.453852 E 68.645331 N 68.639023 S -149.75 W -149.0433 E 68.8 N 68.5 S -149.604697 W -149.568757 E 68.612856 N 68.565714 S -149.75 W -149.0433 E 68.8 N 68.5 S 2006-06-14 to 2006-08-18 2010 text/plain http://hdl.handle.net/10255/dryad.19758 http://metacat.lternet.edu/knb/metacat/knb-lter-arc.10103.1/xml unknown ARC LTERThe Ecosystems CenterMarine Biological Lab7 MBL StWoods HoleMA02543USA(508) 289 7496arc_im@mbl.eduhttp://ecosystems.mbl.edu/ARC/ http://metacat.lternet.edu/knb/metacat/knb-lter-arc.10103.1/xml knb-lter-arc.10103.1 http://hdl.handle.net/10255/dryad.19758 Acceptance and utilization of LTER data requires that:The Principal Investigator be sent a notice stating reasons for acquiring any data and a description of the publication intentions. The Principal Investigator of the data set be sent a copy of the report or manuscript prior to submission and be adequately cited in any resultant publicationsA copy of any resultant publications should be sent to: Principal Investigator Ecosystems Center Marine Biological Laboratory Woods Hole, MA 02543 primary production primary productivity chlorophyll biomass 14C 14C primary production 14C bicarbonate autotrophy autotrophic production in-situ primary production carbon assimilation in-lake diel 14c incubation lake inlet series Toolik E 05 E 06 Fog 02 Fog 04 E5 E6 Fog 2 Fog 4 dataset 2010 ftdryad 2020-01-01T14:41:19Z Yearly file detailing rates of primary production in various surface waters near Toolik Research Station (68 38'N, 149 36'W).
