STREAM CONDUCTIVITY, pH, DISSOLVED ORGANIC CARBON 1990-1992 (Pre-LTER)

Prior to the Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) project in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica, research was being conducted on some of the Taylor Valley streams through an ongoing study by the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the National Science Foundation. This dataset contains che...

Although the majority of the streams in the study are found in Taylor Valley, data has also been collected from streams in the nearby Miers, Alph, Wright, Pearse, Garwood, and Victoria Valleys. An extensive network of gauging stations was set up throughout these valleys to monitor the stream hydrology. While collecting hydrology data, stream water samples to be used for nutrient analysis are also gathered. Sample locations for stream nutrient data thus coincides with those for hydrology samples. Locations also remain consistent from season to season. Specific latitudes and longitudes for each stream gauge can be found in the site. 162 W 163.6 E -77.2 N -77.8 S 1990 to 1992 2011-04-21T18:06:50Z text/plain http://hdl.handle.net/10255/dryad.14724 http://metacat.lternet.edu/knb/metacat/knb-lter-mcm.0019.3/xml unknown McMurdo Dry Valleys LTERByrd Polar Research Center 108 Scott Hall1090 Carmack RdColumbusColumbusOH43210-1002USA(614) 292-4697 http://metacat.lternet.edu/knb/metacat/knb-lter-mcm.0019.3/xml knb-lter-mcm.0019.3 http://hdl.handle.net/10255/dryad.14724 MCM LTER data may be used freely with the following restrictions:The Principal Investigator be sent a notice stating reasons for acquiring any data and a description of the publication intentions.
