This area is typical of the northern foothills of the Brooks Range, with continuous permafrost, no trees, a complete snow cover for 7 to 9 months, winter ice cover on lakes, streams, and ocean, and cessation of river flow during the winter. Tussock tundra vegetation of sedges and grasses mixed with dwarf birch and low willows form the dominant vegetation type with areas of drier heath tundra on ridge tops and other well-drained sites as well as areas of river-bottom willow communities. -149.61058 W -149.61058 E 68.62405 N 68.62405 S -149.64074 W -149.64074 E 68.6342 N 68.6342 S -149.75 W -149.0433 E 68.8 N 68.5 S 2000-05-01 to 2000-09-01 2003 text/plain http://hdl.handle.net/10255/dryad.10845 http://metacat.lternet.edu/knb/metacat/knb-lter-arc.1424.4/xml unknown ARC LTERThe Ecosystems CenterMarine Biological Lab7 MBL StWoods HoleMA02543USA(508) 289 7496arc_im@mbl.eduhttp://ecosystems.mbl.edu/ARC/ http://metacat.lternet.edu/knb/metacat/knb-lter-arc.1424.4/xml knb-lter-arc.1424.4 http://hdl.handle.net/10255/dryad.10845 Acceptance and utilization of LTER data requires that:The Principal Investigator be sent a notice stating reasons for acquiring any data and a description of the publication intentions. The Principal Investigator of the data set be sent a copy of the report or manuscript prior to submission and be adequately cited in any resultant publicationsA copy of any resultant publications should be sent to: Principal Investigator Ecosystems Center Marine Biological Laboratory Woods Hole, MA 02543 soil respiration moist acidic tundra moist non-acidic tundra organic matter dataset 2003 ftdryad 2020-01-01T14:24:16Z In situ soil respiration measured in the Arctic LTER treatment plots in moist acidic tussock and moist non-acidic tussock tundra Dataset Arctic Brooks Range Dwarf birch Ice north slope permafrost Tundra Alaska Dryad Digital Repository (Duke University) Arctic Northern Foothills ENVELOPE(163.917,163.917,-74.733,-74.733)
