The investigations included the complex resistance to hydrolytic decomposition in highly acidic medium, the (TFH-A)-value, and neutral medium at 120oC, the (TFH-120)-value, the viscosity of the parenteral solutions, iron(III) resorption dynamics to serum after the i.m. and i.v. application of the preparation to rabbits, the acute toxicity (LD50) in mice, and the residual iron(III) quantity at the i.m. application site. Iron(III) complexes with dextran carbonic acid (DCA) appeared to be the most suitable for use in veterinary and human medicine.
