In general, both dictionaries, the RussianâKomi-Zyrian dictionary by Andrey Tsember (1910) and the concise Komi-Russian dictionary by Nikolay Shakhov (1924) played a great role in the development of Komi linguistics, culture, education and national consciousness of the Komi at the beginning of the 20th century.
