They are arranged in alphabetical order and according to their age. Furthermore localities, basins, possible paleoenvironment and authors are indicated. The papers published up to now are relatively few and some unpublished reports are included. It is possible to observe: 1- all the species probably inhabited a shelf paleoenvironment; 2- most of the studies are based on surface samples, whereas the greatest number of papers refers to ostracodes of Early Danian age; 3- ostracodes are more abundant in Austral Basin and in Oligocene and Danian ages. Lower Danian microfauna shows certain similarities with that from western Africa of the approximately same age; in Eocene and Oligocene Ostracoda assemblages, it is possible to observe some elements related to species which inhabited basins situated at lower latitude and younger age. This suggests a possible interchange north-south. Besides there are species which have close affinities with taxa from Late Cretaceous of western Australia; Paleocene of Nigeria; Eocene of Mississippi; Oligocene of southern Australia; Miocene of southern Brazil, Chile, India and La Florida; Pliocene of Chile; Pleistocene-Holocene of southern Brazil; Recent of Argentinian continental shelf, Antarctica, coast of California, New Zealand, western Nicaragua and Texas.
