Of these, six species including Aleochara (Xenochara) quadrata Sharp, Gnathusa eva Fenyes, Phymatura blanchardi (Casey), Aloconota sulcifrons (Stephens), Myrmedonota aidani Maruyama and Klimaszewski, and Pella caliginosa (Casey) are newly recorded in Canada. These new records are examined in the context of what insights they provide in relation to the distribution and biogeography of the Canadian aleocharine fauna.
