With its underground resources and newly formed transportation routes, the region, which will play a dominant role in the field of energy along with maritime trade routes, is actually home to more complex interest relations beyond what is known. The region has dozens of small islands apart from the coastal America, Russia, Norway, Canada and Greenland. The sovereignty struggles emerging on the basis of the islands have a significant impact on the foreign policies of the countries on the coast. This study explains the security and energy aspects of the Arctic Region, as well as current problems in the center of the islands.
