Taking into account diverging interests of various countries the legal regulation of the activity in the Arctics becomes especially important. In this situation international organizations, universal in particular, can contribute significantly into the cooperation of states in the field of navigation, sound extraction of natural resources and sustainable protection of environment. Gradually new international organizations begin their activity in the Arctics, that have never before paid attention to the region, the World trade organization, for example. The basis for the activity of both international organizations and other actors are the generally recognized norms and principles of international law.
