Steenstrupine, a complex silicophosphate of sodium, the lanthanides, calcium, manganese, iron, zirconium and thorium, is the principal uranium-bearing mineral (about 0.1 % U) in the Kvanefjeld uranium deposit in the northern part of the Ilimaussaq alkaline complex, South Greenland.
