The article contains the comment to the proper geographic names, presented in the songs of Kalmyk heroic epos «Dzhangar» among which there is the hydronium Ertses Bumba, by scientific tradition identi0 ed with the river name Irtysh. The author gives some name indications of the given hydronium in « the Secret History of Mongols » and the chronicle of Rashid-ad-Din. Analyzingthe etymologies of Irtysh hydronium, the author for the 0 rst time in the scienti0 c literature shows that Irtysh hydronium originates from the Yeniseic (Ket and others) languages.
