Description
Summary:By means of columnar and thin-layer chromatography, the author investigated the presence of various carotenoids in six fish species from the Antarctic (Dissostichus eleginoides, Notothenia gibberifrons, Pseudochaenichtys georgianus, Trematomus hansoni, Trematomus bernacchii and Bathydraco macrolepis). The presence of the 20 carotenoids has been found. The total content of carotenoids ranged from 0.011 (Notothenia gibberifrons, 35.0 cm body length to 1.291 μg/g wet weight (fins of Bathydraco macrolepis).
