Summary:The aim of this stud y is to know the valuation of the participation of the families in the canar y scho- o ls. For this stud y there has been designed a questionnaire that was applied to teaching staff of the cen - ters and to parents and mothers attending formative actions on Family training. In this f rame we have valued the opinion o f the teaching sta ff on the degree o f participation o f the families in the life of the centers. There was gathered a whole of 438 questionnaires of professorship . W e also tr y to know the impression that parents of pupils brings over of the participation of the fami - lies in the centers, and the communication among the centers, the professorship and the families. Ther e h as been com p leted a whole o f 1.242 questionnaires on the p art o f the p arents and mothers. As much between the teaching sta ff as between the f amilies, the valuation o f the level o f participa- tion of the families in its center differs between the consulted ones, presenting intermediate values a s a whole, but a high dispersion in the opinions. Teachers and families consider that the teaching staff sti - mulates the participation o f the f amilies. The pro f essorship has a slightly less positive vision on the leve l of activity o f the AMPAs o f the centers. The valuation o f the training o f the pro f essorship to propitiat e the participation o f the f amilies is not negative, but none o f two consulted groups shows high punc - t ua ti o n s in thi s it e m El objeto de este estudio es conocer la valoraci ó n de la participaci ó n de las familias en los centro s educativos canarios.
