Los aerosoles atmosféricos tienen un impacto significativo en la transmisión de la radiación solar a través de la atmósfera, por lo tanto, el estudio de estas partículas es uno de los factores clave en cuanto al cambio climático del planeta y sus efectos. El GOA-UVa ha realizado un importante trabajo de investigación sobre la caracterización de las propiedades de los aerosoles, tanto en la península ibérica como en la zona ártica europea. En este trabajo se presenta una visión general de la importancia del estudio de los aerosoles en la zona ártica, y algunos de los resultados de la caracterización de estas partículas en la zona. The research on the processes that govern the environmental change and its prediction and monitoring systems in Polar Regions is of great importance due to the high sensitivity of these areas to natural and anthropogenic impacts. Atmospheric aerosols have a significant impact on the transmission of solar radiation through the atmosphere; therefore, the study of these particles is a key factor in regards to climate change and those effects. The Atmospheric Optics Group of the University of Valladolid (GOA-UVa) have been carried out a strong research work on the characterization of aerosol properties, both in the Iberian Peninsula and in the European Arctic. This paper presents an overview about the importance of the aerosol's study in the Arctic, and some of the results on aerosol characterization in the area.
