We describe changes in the Offi cial List of the Birds of Costa Rica for the period 2008- 2009. We include fi ve new registers for the country in the Offi cial-with voucher category: Puffi nus nativitatis Christmas Shearwater, Accipiter poliogaster Gray-bellied Hawk, Rissa tridactyla Black-legged Kittiwake, Anthracothorax veraguensis Veraguan Mango y Lepidopyga coeruleogularis Sapphire-throated Hummingbird. Category changes were made for eight species: six pass from Offi cial-without voucher to Offi cial-with voucher: Aramides axillaris Rufous-necked Wood-rail, Caprimulgus cayennensis White-tailed Nightjar, Myiobius atricaudus Black-tailed Flycatcher, Pachyramphus albogriseus Blackand- White Becard, Hylophilus fl aviceps Scrub Greenlet y Aimophila rufescens Rusty Sparrow; two species pass from the Offi cial list to the No offi cial-doubtful list: Amazilia alfaroana Alfaro�s Hummingbird y Cyanocompsa parellina Blue Bunting. Clear photographic evidence and a sound recording were accepted for updating vouchers, since they improve quality of the existing vouchers, for Procellaria parkinsoni Parkinson�s Petrel y Psarocolius decumanus Crested Oropendola. The taxonomic status and scientifi c name of all species were updated according to the most recent list of the American Ornithologists� Union (Chesser et al. 2009). Incluimos cinco nuevos registros para el país en la categoría Ofi cial-Con comprobante: Puffi nus nativitatis Christmas Shearwater, Accipiter poliogaster Gray-bellied Hawk, Rissa tridactyla Black-legged Kittiwake, Anthracothorax veraguensis Veraguan Mango y Lepidopyga coeruleogularis Sapphire-throated Hummingbird. Ocho especies cambian de categoría: seis pasan de Ofi cial-Sin comprobante a Ofi cial-Con comprobante, Aramides axillaris Rufous-necked Wood-rail, Caprimulgus cayennensis White-tailed Nightjar, Myiobius atricaudus Black-tailed Flycatcher, Pachyramphus albogriseus Black-and- White Becard, Hylophilus ...
