description The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between attitudes of students towards Physical Education lesson and their social intelligence levels. The sample of the research included totally 143 individuals including 59 females and 84 males studying at secondary education 6th, 7th and 8th grades in Susuz district of Kars province in 2018-2019 academic year. Tromso Social Intelligence Scale (TSIS; Silvera et al., 2001) and Physical Education Lesson Attitude Scale were used as the data collection tools. Tromso Social Intelligence Scale was adapted into Turkish by Doğan and Çetin; reliability of the scale was determined to be .80. Physical Education Lesson Attitude Scale (PELAS) was developed by Güllü and Güçlü (2009), and reliability of the scale was found to be .94. Obtained data were analyzed in SPSS 25 for Windows statistical software. T-test, One-Way and Two-Way Variance Analysis (ANOVA), Tukey test and Pearson Correlation Analysis were performed for evaluating the data of the research. The level of significance was determined to be .05. According to the findings obtained from the research, it was determined that attitudes of female students towards the physical education lesson and their social skill factor values were statistically and significantly higher rather than the male students; attitudes of students towards the physical education lesson did not differ significantly according to the grade; however, general social intelligence of the 8th grade students was statistically and significantly higher rather than both 6th and 7th grade students. Positive and statistically significant relationships were also found between attitudes of students towards physical education lesson and their general and whole social intelligence factors, and the difference was also determined between each social intelligence factor. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, öğrencilerin beden eğitimi dersine yönelik tutumları ile sosyal zeka düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim yılında Kars ilinin Susuz ilçesinde bulunan ortaokul 6. 7. ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerinden 59’u kadın, 84’ü erkek olmak üzere toplam 143 kişi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Tromso Sosyal Zeka Ölçeği (TSZÖ) ve Beden Eğitimi Dersi Tutum Ölçeği (BDTÖ) kullanıldı. Tromso Sosyal Zeka Ölçeğinin Türkçeye uyarlanması Doğan ve Çetin tarafından yapıldı, ölçeğin güvenirliği .80 olarak belirlendi. Beden Eğitimi Dersi Tutum Ölçeği ise Güllü ve Güçlü (2009) tarafından geliştirildi ve ölçeğin güvenirliği .94 olarak tespit edildi. Araştırma verilerin değerlendirilmesinde t-testi, tek yönlü ve iki yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA), tukey testi ve korelasyon analizi (Pearson) uygunlandı. Anlamlılık düzeyi .05 olarak belirlendi. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre; kadın öğrencilerin beden eğitimi dersine yönelik tutumları ile sosyal beceri faktör değerlerinin erkek öğrencilere göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek olduğu, öğrencilerin beden eğitimi dersine yönelik tutumlarının sınıf düzeyine göre farklılık göstermediği ancak 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin genel sosyal zekâlarının hem 6. hem de 7. sınıf öğrencilerinden istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek olduğu tespit edildi. Öğrencilerin beden eğitimi dersine yönelik tutumları ile genel ve tüm sosyal zekâ faktörleri arasında ayrıca tüm sosyal zeka faktörlerinin kendi aralarında pozitif yönlü ve istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ilişkiler olduğu belirlendi.
