Looking to the Phenomenon of Migration via the Experiences of Immigrants

The purpose of this study evaluates the meaning of thephenomenon of migration and relations between immigrant and aboriginal subjectsogiologically via the experiences of the immigrants. The research wasconducted in France and Switzerland, from June to Septenber in 2012. Totaly 25Turkish immigrants who have lived in Paris, France (18), in Basel (3) and inLugano, Switzerland (4) constituted the research group. The method ofqualitative research was used in the study. Participants in the study groupwere determined through “the purposive sampling approach”. Therefore, the studygroup was limited. Sami-structured interview form was developed in order tocollect data in study. In-depth inretviews with participants were conducted inthe framework of this form. The documents of interview, conducted withparticipants, were analysis according to the predetermined coding list.Descriptive and content analysis techniques were used for the data analysis.The findings were evaluated on two fundamental points as sociological. Firstevaluation was on the mean of immigration. The second evaluation point wasabout the relationships which were established between immigrants and aboriginalsubjects. In this study, it was reached two basic arguments in the light of twoevaluation points. Firstly, the meaning of phenomenon of migration wasreevaluated from spatial location to social status in which also there was themeaning of spatial location. Secondly, It was thoght that some of the dynamicsplay a role of in the transation from bias to cultural richnesswhich arisebetween partners in common space. Bu çalışmanın amacı, göç olgusunun anlamına ve göçmen ileyerel özne arasındaki ilişkilere göçmenlerin deneyimleri üzerinden sosyolojikbir değerlendirmede bulunmaktır. Araştırma Haziran-Eylül 2012 tarihleriarasında Fransa ve İsviçre’de yürütülmüştür. Araştırma grubunu Fransa’daParis’te ve yaşayan 18, İsviçre’de Basel’de yaşayan 3 ve Lugano’da yaşayan 4,toplamda 25 Türkiyeli göçmen oluşturmuştur. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemikullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubundaki katılımcılar ‘amaçlı örnekleme’ yaklaşımıylabelirlenmiştir. Bu nedenle çalışma grubu sı¬nırlı tutulmuştur. Araştırmada veritoplamak amacıyla yarı-yapılandırılmış bir görüşme formu geliştirilmiştir. Bugörüşme formu çerçevesinde katılımcılarla derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır.Katılımcılarla gerçekleştirilmiş olan görüşme dökümleri, önceden belirlenmişolan kodlama listesine göre analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde içerik vebetimsel analiz teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular sosyolojikolarak iki temel noktada değerlendirilmiştir. Birincisi, göç olgusunun anlamınailişkin değerlendirmelerdir. İkinci değerlendirme noktası ise göçmenler ileyerel özneler arasında kurulan ilişkiler hakkında olmuştur. Bu çalışmada heriki değerlendirme noktası ışığında iki temel çıkarıma ulaşılmıştır. Birincisi,göç olgusunun tanımı mekânsal yer değişikliğinden mekânsal yer değişikliğini deiçeren toplum-konumsal yer değişikliği biçiminde genişletilebileceği kanısınavarılmıştır. İkincisi, bazı dinamiklerin, ortak mekânda farklılıklar arasındaoluşan dışlayıcı önyargıların kültürel zenginlik algısına dönüşümünde roloynayabileceği düşünülmüştür.
