A previous study on flora on the campus of Ömer Halisdemir Universityhas shown that 405 taxa from 74 families and 262 genus exhibited indigenousdistribution. In this study, some of the indigenous plant species on the campuswere evaluated from ecological, aesthetical and functional points of view ofand 14 of them were projected to be eligible to be used in landscape areas.specified species were given below along with their Latin and Turkish nameswith their biological, ecological characteristics and photographs. Since theynaturally range within circumstances of Niğde, their habitats were also studiedand samples of landscape designs with these species were drafted/presented,prepared.Specifiedspecies are Butomus umbellatus L., Colchicum triphyllum G. Kunze, Crocus chrysanthus (Herb.) Herb., Cyperuslongus L., Gladiolus atroviolaceus Boiss., Irisorientallis Mill., Juncus articulatus L., Juncusconglomeratus L., Lamium orientale (Fisch. & C.A. Mey.) E.H.L.Krause, Phlomisarmeniaca Wild., Phragmites australis (Cav.) TrinexSteud., Tulipa humilis Herb., Typha angustifolia L. and Zygophyllum fabago L. Peyzaj mimarlığı çalışmalarında bitki materyali seçimioldukça önemlidir. Doğal bitki örtüsüne ait türlerin kullanılması;uygulamaların başarı şansını artırmakta, ekonomik olmakta ve kent ile yakınçevresinin bütünlüğünü sağlamaktadır. Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesiyerleşkesinde yapılan bir flora çalışmasıyla 74 familya ve 262 cinse ait 405taksonun doğal yayılış gösterdiği ortaya konulmuştur.
