The drawings are based on two photographs taken at the Lick Observatory in California. The positions of the details mapped are determined by the then libration of the Moon. For drawing lunar formations, a considerable number of photographs from other countries were used as well as some form the Popular Observatory in Prague. The map is accompanied by a descriptive text and a key to the various surface features. - V.S.N.” Neuschel, Virginia S. (March, 1964). Klepešta, Josef, and Lukeš, Ladislav.
