Ristow states that Mitchell Senior retired in 1860 and left the publishing business to his son. This is the first edition, first state, with no page numbers outside the borders, no New Orleans map between 28 and 29, and with the larger "Map of the World on a Globular Projection" by W. Williams (this map was dropped for a smaller map in the second 1860 issue - see our copy). Full color.
