Summary: | Engraved view. John Dunmore's Pacific explorer: the life of Jean-Francois de La Perouse . p. 254 states the location is probably Tomari Bay, Sakhalin. This copy consists of the Atlas only to the First French edition. It is an exceptional copy, with very strong impressions. It should be compared to the smaller English Atlas of 1799. Maps are without color and bound in half leather brown marbled paper covered boards with "La Perouse's Voyages. Atlas" stamped in gilt on the spine. Issued to accompany: Voyage de la Perouse autour du monde . an V (1797) Phillips, 688; Howes. U.S.iana, 93; Mickwitz. A.E.
