Summary: | We annotated a subset of photos taken during the 2020 March 03-04 aerial survey of spectacled eiders in the Bering Sea using ImageJ software (version 1.52a; https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/download.html). Annotations made to the images were used to count individual spectacled eiders in plumage color categories. Counts from each image are compiled in data table spei_imagej_winter_2020_counts.csv. Each record is a flock that was annotated and counted in ImageJ and columns are counts within each count category, which are based on photo quality and eider plumage color. Protocols for annotating photos to determine counts are described in the standard operating procedure document filename sop_spei_photo_analysis_20210709.pdf submitted as a product under this project. Louise Bishop processed survey photos in ImageJ. |
