Summary: | Preliminary results from coupled earth system model simulations incorporating ice crystal capacitance and nucleation temperature changes from a previous atmosphere-only study are presented. Overall the results are in agreement with the initial study however the difference in liquid water path is striking with the present study showing negligible zonal mean changes at all latitudes. Future analysis of this dataset - especially including the replication of Figure 4(d,e,f) from the initial Varma et al. study - should examine these results in more detail particularly given the persistent biases in model-observation agreement over the Southern Ocean. ... |
