(2020). The density estimates of each layer represent the contribution of the respective vegetation type to a given grid cell’s total biomass carbon density. As such, the total above and belowground biomass carbon density layers of Spawn et al. (2020) can be produced by taking the pixelwise sum of the respective tree, grass, crop, and tundra layers. Likewise, the Spawn et al. (2020) uncertainty layer can be produced by taking the root sum of the squared vegetation-specific uncertainty layers. All layers represent conditions in the year 2010.
