This figure shows CIMR instrument specifications. Top plot shows the projected footprint shapes compared to other existing PMR instruments. Bottom table shows the channel structure of CIMR. For both operational and forecast needs, the best possible resolution is necessary to produce sea ice concentration products, especially in key activity areas that occur close to islands in both the Russian and Canadian sector of the Arctic. One unique feature of CIMR will be the about 7 m diameter mesh reflector antenna which will allow for unprecedented high resolutions for the C to Ka band channels. The CIMR mission provides new solutions both for assisting in the operational planning of off-shore industries as well as for assisting emergency response, forecasting and environmental monitoring efforts Still Image Arctic Sea ice DataCite Metadata Store (German National Library of Science and Technology) Arctic
