Description
Summary:blur is a set of programs used by the Mount Erebus Volcano Observatory (MEVO) to control a thermal camera system for year-round monitoring of the Erebus lava lake. Written in a mixture of C and C++, the software uses the open source Aravis library to interface with the thermal camera (which supports the GenICam interface). Although it is designed to run on embedded ARM systems, it will run on any Linux based system. It also includes a real-time image viewer written in Python. See the README file for more details. More details about the software and the camera system that it was designed to run can be found in the article "Autonomous thermal camera system for monitoring the active lava lake at Erebus volcano, Antarctica" published in Geoscientific Instrumentation, Methods and Data Systems (the DOI for this article is in the links below).
