Из данной группы загрязнителей наиболее изученным являются полихлорированные бифенилы (ПХБ). По современным оценкам более 70 тыс. т ПХБ поступило и окружающую среду, при этом большая часть сосредоточилась в водах океана, т.к. аккумуляция этого вещества в открытых водах в 1.5 раза выше накопления в континентальных экосистемах. Мировой океан можно считать конечным резервуаром накопления этих соединений. В статье рассмотрены основные проблемы загрязнения инсектицидами, пестицидами и полихлорбифенилами в донных отложениях Баренцева моря.
