Description
Summary:This dataset is designed to demonstrate the magnitude of spatial variability in conductive heat flux and shear heat flux at the base of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet. The conductive heat flux estimates are based on the analytical temperature solution of Robin [1995]. Details are available in the associated publication. Shear heat production calculated from a plausible range of basal shear stress values. Each of these fluxes and the inputs from which they were derived are reported along a profile across the Siple Coast.
