Bio-optical algorithm description from Bio-optical evidence for increasing Phaeocystis dominance in the Barents Sea

This supplement provides a detailed description of the structure and performance of the ocean-colour algorithm we use to distinguish different phytoplankton assemblages in the Barents Sea from MODIS-A ocean colour data.
