Snowpack significantly contributes to water resources in North Africa.The objective of this work was to analyze the impact of the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) on rainfall and temperature in Morocco at a sub-seasonal scale and to evaluate, for the first time, linkages between the NAO and snow cover area (SCA) derived from remote sensing observations.For this purpose, we analyzed daily SCA products (2000)(2001)(2002)(2003)(2004)(2005)(2006)(2007)(2008)(2009)(2010)(2011)(2012)(2013) from the MODIS sensor, meteorological data from 37 stations (1993)(1994)(1995)(1996)(1997)(1998)(1999)(2000)(2001)(2002)(2003)(2004)(2005)(2006)(2007)(2008)(2009)(2010)(2011), NCEP re-analysis of surface air temperature and rainfall rate, and a monthly NAO index.The linear linkages sought using simple correlation analysis demonstrated that negative (positive) NAO (1) is associated with enhanced (reduced) rainfall in December and February for the northern part of the country; (2) occurs with above-normal (below-normal) ... : تساهم الكتلة الثلجية بشكل كبير في الموارد المائية في شمال إفريقيا. كان الهدف من هذا العمل هو تحليل تأثير تذبذب شمال الأطلسي (NAO) على هطول الأمطار ودرجة الحرارة في المغرب على نطاق دون موسمي وتقييم، لأول مرة، الروابط بين NAO ومنطقة الغطاء الثلجي (SCA) المستمدة من ملاحظات الاستشعار عن بعد. لهذا الغرض، قمنا بتحليل منتجات SCA اليومية (2000) (2001)(2002)(2003)(2004)(2005)(2006)(2007)(2008)(2009)(2010)(2011)(2012)(2013) من جهاز استشعار MODIS، بيانات الأرصاد الجوية من 37 محطة (1993)(1994)(1995)(1996)(1997)(1998)(1999)(2000)(2001)(2002)(2003)(2004)(2005) (2006)(2007)(2008)(2009)(2010)(2011)، إعادة تحليل NCEP لدرجة حرارة الهواء السطحي ومعدل هطول الأمطار، ومؤشر شهري لـ NAO. أظهرت الروابط الخطية التي تم البحث عنها باستخدام تحليل الارتباط البسيط أن NAO (إيجابي) (1) يرتبط بزيادة (انخفاض) هطول الأمطار في ديسمبر وفبراير للجزء الشمالي من البلاد ؛ (2) يحدث مع درجة حرارة أعلى من المعتاد (أقل من المعتاد)، وعلى النقيض من هطول الأمطار، يستمر الارتباط بعيدًا في الداخل وفي وقت متأخر من الموسم. تسلط هذه النتائج الضوء على تأثير ...
