Surveyed by Capt. G.H. Richards and the officers of the H.M.S. Plumper and engraved by J. & C. Walker, this map shows the islands surrounding Haro Strait and Middle Channel in British Columbia. Detailed relief shading, sketches, and notes show the land cover and land forms. Many places and features are named along with soundings in fathoms in the bodies of water. The islands shown include San Juan, Shaw Island, Orcas Island, Waldron Island, Saturna Island, Mayne Island, Pender Island, Prevost Island, Admiral Island, Stuart Island, Moresby Island, Portland Island, Coal Island, Pier Island, Spieden Island, and part of Vancouver Island. Vancouver Island is labeled with the different land districts indcluding Victoria, Lake, Highland, South Saanich, North Saanich, and Esquimalt. The channels, inlets, harbours, bays, and sounds are labeled and include False Bay, Douglas Channel, Swanson Channel, and Saanich Inlet among many others. Several reserves are highlighted in red. ...
