Ice core data from ice patches in the Mackenzie Mountains, Northwest Territories, 2007-2009

Ice patches were cored with a 8 cm hand-operated ice drill. Distinct bands of caribou fecal matter were measured (core depth) and collected using clean instruments. Each band was dated by accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS). The dataset includes core depths and AMS dates for 10 cores extracted from 3 ice patches. : Purpose: Ice patches in the Mackenzie Mountains were cored to determine the internal structure of permanent ice patch features, and to recover samples of stratified caribou fecal matter for biological analyses. : Summary: This dataset consists of core depths and radiocarbon dates for layered caribou fecal matter extracted from ice patches in the Mackenzie Mountains. This study is a component of the IPY-Federal funded NWT Ice Patch Study.
