Historical analysis of air photos was performed to determine the local rates of coastal change in the vicinity. The analysis involved scanning and georeferencing of air photos (1952, 1970, 1976, 1985, 1993 and 1997) using an IKONOS satellite image from 2006 as a base. The waterline and cliff lines were digitized and an automated procedure to measure changes at 25-50 m intervals along and between the digitized vectors was applied.
