The product includes time-height derivations of the cloud type (phase type) and the condensed water content and characteristic effective particle size for liquid and ice hydrometeor populations. Additionally, it includes the vertical integral of the condensed water content for liquid and ice, i.e., the liquid water path and ice water path. These are derived using a combination of sensors, including: cloud radar, depolarization lidar, microwave radiometer, ceilometer, and radiosondes. During MOSAiC, these sensors were installed and operated onboard the Polarstern icebreaker while within the Arctic sea ice. Most data were obtained while Polarstern was moored to the MOSAiC sea ice floe, passively drifting through the Arctic.
