Pardinas in 2015 to “near Bahia [Bahia] San Sebastian on the Argentina side of Tierra del Fuego.” Funeomys chinchilloides ultimus named by O. Thomas in 1916 is occasionally used as a race to distinguish southernmost island populations. Monotypic. Distribution. Extreme S Argentina and Chile mainland and Tierra del Fuego Is. Descriptive notes. Head-body 112-156 mm, tail 58-81 mm, ear 19-3 mm, hindfoot 32 mm; weight 50 g.
