The male of this species is easily distinguished from other males of Arachnospila ( Ammosphex ) abnormis -species group (hypopygium ventro-preapically with tuft of long erect setae medially) by having one row of bristles (not setae) on the hypopygium baso-laterally (Figs 3, 4 vs. 1, 2, 5–12). Genitalia as in Fig. 38. Diagnosis of female. The female of this species is very similar to that of Arachnospila ( Ammosphex ) kuwayamai (Ishikawa, 1966) by having apical spine of first protarsomere more than 0.5 of protarsomere 2 in length, by shiny frons, by ratio of first flagellomere length to its width 3.2–3.9, by protarsomere 1 with three spines, but clearly differs by having curved 2 rs-m vein of fore wing (Fig. 95 vs . 106).
