(Kwon, 1988) Length (including tegmen). Male: 3.5–3.8 mm; female: 4.0– 4.2 mm. Head and thorax black, vertex with a pair of dark black spots; forewings dark brown. Male abdomen. 2 nd acrotergite with trunk widely V-shaped; neck shorter than the trunk width. 2 nd tergal apodeme reaching middle of tergite posteriorly. 1 st sternal apodeme with anterior lobes conically developed; posterior lobes large, as long as basal with. 2 nd sternal apodeme with posterior lobes about 1.5 times as long as basal width, extending beyond sternum margin. Male genitalia. Pygofer with a distinct caudo-ventral tubercle; aedeagal shaft slender, with pair of protuberances subapically, apical appendages crossed, directed ventrally. Material examined. HINA: 6 males, 2 females, Qinghai Prov. , vii. 1956, 2300m, Coll. Ma Shijun, Huang Keren, Fang Sanyang, Wang Shuyong & Hou Wuwei (SHEM); 2 males, Ningxia Autonomous Region , Haiyuan County, Huangjia Township, 22.viii. 1966, Coll. Ren Guodong (NXAC). Distribution. Russia (middle Siberia to Kamchatka), Mongolia, China (Sichuan, Xizang, Qinghai, Ningxia), Korea, and northwestern North America (Kwon 1988). Remarks. The species M. guttatus and M. heiseles are considered conspecific based on examination and identification of their type specimens.
