INDONESIA, E. Java, Mt. Ardjoeno, 6000 ft., I. 1936, E. le Moult, 1 ♂ (NHM). Discussion. Mycomya occultans belongs to the subgenus Mycomya s. str. It has a conspicuous mid-coxal spur and long, narrow medial processus of the tergal part of the male hypopygium. The species is widely distributed in the Palaearctic region (Väisänen 1984 a) and is recorded here as new to the Indonesian fauna. The discovery of M. occultans from Java is quite surprising, although there are also records from India (Väisänen 1984 a), Myanmar (Väisänen 1996), Shanxi, Zhejiang and Guizhou Provinces of China (Wu & Yang 1994), the Kuril Islands of the Russian Far East (Väisänen 1984 a), Japan (Sasakawa 1961, Väisänen 1984 b), and South Korea (Väisänen 2013 b). Jakovlev (2011) summarized information on the biology of M. occultans . The species has been recorded from bracket fungi growing on broad-leaved trees. Jakovlev obtained it in Finland from Laxitextum bicolor (Pers.) Lentz on a rotting birch log on the ground. : Published as part of Väisänen, Rauno, 2014, New Mycomya species from South-East Asia (Diptera, Mycetophilidae), pp. 526-540 in Zootaxa 3815 (4) on page 533, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.3815.4.4, http://zenodo.org/record/228698 : {"references": ["Winnertz, J.
