Species included. Proschoengastia herniosa (Brennan and Jones, 1961), Proschoengastia insolita (Brennan and Jones, 1961), Proschoengastia macrochaeta (Brennan and Jones, 1961) comb. nov., Proschoengastia antarctica sp. nov. Hosts. Phyllotis osilae J.A. Allen, Neotomys ebriosus Thomas (Rodentia: Cricetidae), Lagidium peruanum Meyen (Rodentia: Chinchillidae). New host: Neovison vison (Schreber) (Carnivora: Mustelidae). Distribution. Peru. Recorded in Chile, Region of Magallanes and Antártica Chilena, Antártica Chilena Province, for the first time. Remarks. Trombicula macrochaeta Brennan and Jones, 1961 was described by 3 specimens (holotype and 2 paratypes) with broken sensilla.
