Etymology. The species name is composed of the Latin uni (one) and Latin spina (spine), referring the species with only one middorsal acicular spine. Material examined. Holotype: Adult female (ZMB 11587), collected at station 742 in the deep-sea plain near the Sedlo Seamount (Fig. 1A, B; Table 1), mounted as glycerol-paraffin slide on a Cobb aluminum frame.
