Mesopelagic (Hulley and Paxton in Carpenter and De Angelis 2016); depth: surface to 1,537 m (5,041 ft) (Orlov and Tokranov 2019), and perhaps to 4,268 ft (13,999 ft) (Personal communication: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Fish Collection, Los Angeles, California).
