Remarks : Remarks : Burckhardt and Lauterer (1997) posited that this species may be conspecific with Phylloplecta rubicola (recorded from Washington). Further examination and comparison of the type specimens is needed to confirm this. There is also a close resemblance to P. occidentalis . Platycorypha Tuthill nigrivirga Burckhardt, 1987 Type locality : Argentina. Additional distribution : Bolivia, Brazil, Uruguay. Introduced in Europe, USA, California Host plant : Tipuana tipu . Remarks : First detected in southern California in October 2008 (Rung et al . 2009), this psyllid is a pest of the ornamental legume, Tipu, or rosewood tree; common name: Tipu psyllid. Predators : Brazilian populations are partly controlled by coccinellid beetles (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae). Psylla Geoffroy alni (Linnaeus, 1758) Type locality : Europe. Additional distribution : Widely distributed across the Palaearctic region. USA, Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington; Canada, Alberta, British Columbia; Greenland.
