Distribution. Nettastoma melanura was described from Sicily, and is also known from the Mediterranean Sea and the tropical Atlantic. In the eastern Atlantic, it is recorded from Portugal to the Gulf of Guinea; in the western Atlantic, from the east coast of Florida, USA, throughout the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean, to southern Brazil (Figueiredo et al. 2002; Smith 1989 c). : Published as part of Melo, Marcelo R.
