Family Rajidae Dipturus batis (Linnaeus, 1758) —Blue skate 9 specimens were caught at depths between 729 and 896 m. Length data were available for five specimens ranging from 22 to 146 cm TL. Currently, this species is under taxonomic revision. According to Iglésias et al. (2010) D. batis is a composite species and was provisionally split into the smaller D. sp. cf. flossada and the much larger D. sp. cf. intermedia. Rajella bigelowi (Stehmann, 1978) —Bigelow's ray (Fig. 4) Two specimens, one male of 53 cm and one female of 42 cm TL, were caught at depths between 1,450 and 1,683 m. Habitat and Distribution: demersal on several types of bottom substrate from 650 to up to 4,165 m depth. Eastern North Atlantic, from Greenland and Iceland to Mauritania.
