Taxonomic notes. Described originally as a species of Scolioplanes , it was cited rarely in the literature, under either Scolioplanes or Tomotaenia . After re-examining the holotype, Cook (1896) recognized it as a distinct species. It is assigned here to Strigamia for the first time ( new combination ) because it shares all major diagnostic features of Strigamia . However, it is considered a distinct species only tentatively, because available information is not enough to distinguish it confidently from other species, including S. epileptica and S. fusata . Distribution: unknown. The single known specimen is of uncertain provenance, but probably from North America (Attems 1929; Mercurio 2010). : Published as part of Bonato, Lucio, Dányi, László, Socci, Antonio Augusto & Minelli, Alessandro, 2012, Species diversity of Strigamia Gray, 1843 (Chilopoda: Linotaeniidae): a preliminary synthesis, pp. 1-39 in Zootaxa 3593 on page 14, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.214898 : {"references": ["Meinert, F.
