Summary:** Coptodon zillii (Gervais, 1848). Redbelly Tilapia. To 40 cm (15.7 in) SL (Froese and Pauly 2019; note that we were unable to verify this record). Long Beach Harbor area (Dill and Cordone 1997; M.L., unpubl. data). Primarily a freshwater species, T. zillii are periodically taken in Long Beach Harbor at least as far south as the Belmont Pier. They probably have been washed down rivers or creeks entering the harbor area.
